Silver Command

Tactical Leadership – located close to, yet remote from the disaster area

This team establishes a forward operating and provides local tactical leadership for the duration of the mission.

Roles and responsibilities of Silver Command, include:

• Liaise with Gold Command to report overall progress of the assigned tasks
• Ensure that risk control measures agreed at Gold Command level are implemented, assessed and fit for purpose throughout the mission
• Request addition resources from Gold Command and / or local agencies
• Conduct local tactical meetings to update all agencies, local and international, also SAR Group Team Leaders as to the progress of the mission, changes in operation plan(s), priorities and ensure critical information flow
• Provide local, regional and international Search and Rescue (SAR) Teams with Rescue Global Team Leaders trained with additional specialist skills upon request
