Release #1 0651CST

Red Cross and Task Force Bravo search teams are continuing to search Sites 1A, 1B, and 1C – which have not yet been completely searched due to poor visibility yesterday. A forward operating base was established yesterday, south of the two volcano sites, using helicopter support. This enabled teams to camp closer to the search sites last night, and to start the search again at first light this morning.

The Rescue Global search team searched into the night last night. They are continuing their efforts on the lower paths and vertical drop offs from first light this morning.

The family have requested the use of search dogs, and these are hoped to be brought to the site this morning.
