Face Coverings Mandatory for Travel on Public Transport in England - June 2020

News Post date June 5, 2020

This week the British government announced that face coverings will be mandatory for all who travel on public transport in England from 15th June 2020.

Face coverings must therefore be worn on buses, trams, trains, coaches, aircraft and ferries, and will be a “condition of travel” with non compliance potentially leading to a fine.

As our lockdown measures ease further this month and greater numbers of people are expected to be travelling to work and school, face masks will provide an added precaution to the social distancing rule, for those having to resume their journeys and use services.

It comes as the UK recorded the deaths of another 176 people who tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total number of deaths in the UK to 39,904.

Medical grade masks should still be conserved for clinical settings and therefore the general public are being encouraged to source non-surgical, even home-made face coverings.

Rescue Global’s recent introduction of a new product series, Ultimate Facemask, anticipated the increased need for safe, comfortable and reusable public face masks as we continue to fight the COVID19 pandemic.
